Hotel Central Panamá is one of the many historic buildings that have been recognized by UNESCO for their architectural significance within the Casco Antiguo – which itself is also a World Heritage site in Panama City.
The hotel was built about 150 years ago in the heart of the city, across from Independence Plaza in the Casco Antiguo; and at the time, it was the first hotel in the country – opening its doors in 1874 and becoming an important meeting point for travelers.
