Dubai – Panama City: The longest nonstop flight in the world!
2015-10-05
It will take 17 hours and 35 minutes to travel from the wonderful Dubai to Panama City for Arabs coming for vacations to panama or just business, but it will be possible from February 01st, 2016 thanks to the new flight of Emirates Airlines. The flight between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Tocumen International Airport (PTY) will be the longest flight in the world (an 8.700-mile journey) and the first Emirates destination in Central America, providing convenient connections to Latin America, South America and beyond.

"This new direct flight between Dubai and Panama City will connect Latin America with the Middle East, Asia and Africa; building a wider global network of commercial and cultural opportunities for the two regions. It has been a pleasure working with the Emirates team, who have shared the vision of Panama and Dubai as centers of commerce, prosperity and hope ", explained Eduardo Fonseca Ward, General Consul of the Republic of Panama, in Dubai.

This daily flight will operate in a Boeing 777-200LR and will leave Dubai at 08:05 to arrive in Panama at 16:40. In addition, the return flight will leave Panama at 22:10 to arrive in Dubai at 22:55 the next day. Three classes of seating will be available to book, including 8 seats in first, 42 in business and 216 in economy.

Regarding the comfort of the passengers traveling in economy class in the longest flight in the world, it is important to take into account what a spokesperson of the airline explained:

“As with all Emirates flights, passengers flying Emirates economy class to Panama will be able to sit back and relax in spacious seats with plenty of leg room, whilst enjoying our award-winning entertainment system and gourmet meals crafted by our master chefs.

Our contoured seats recline with adjustable headrests for extra comfort, with blankets and pillows available.

Besides, passengers throughout all classes can access over 2,000 channels of films, TV shows, music and games through ice, our award-winning inflight entertainment system, ensuring there is plenty of choice for everyone. Children can enjoy TV, games and music selected especially for them, plus there are special magazines and toys on every flight, along with baby kits and a selection of prepared baby food.”

The selection of Panama City as its first destination in Central America is a logical decision for Emirates, based on the ongoing expansion of the Panama Canal - which ensures the country’s economic growth. Besides, the decision is supported by the fact that Panama is the home of two of the busiest ports in Latin America including Colon Free Trade Zone and Tocumen International Airport, which is considered the ´Hub´ of the Americas.
